Kacico Dance presented the world premiere of

Innerlying Landscapes Sat. Oct. 17, 2009 8:00pm Folly Theater It was a spectacular show!!! It was great to see each and every one of you in the audience. Kudos to all the dancers, costumers, musicians, and tech people who made the performance what it was.

On the Program:

Innerlying Landscapes

        A new contemporary dance ballet by Michelle Diane Brown set to Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings played live by the KC Chamber Orchestra with photography projections by Michael Oliveri, lighting by Brad Hull, and costume designs by Colin Coit, Laura Powell, and Jenn McElvie. 

Time: imparts forward motion

        A new work by Boulder, CO choreographer, Julie Rothschild. 

Sit, Stand, Walk, Speak, Play (excerpt)

        An excerpt from the full evening work which premiered at the Belger Art Center in 2006 set to live drumming by Dave Patmore.

Announcements:

Kacico Dance recently received a $10,000 grant from the Muriel McBrien Kauffman Foundation in support of their 2009-2010 season.  We appreciate their continued support of dance in Kansas City.

Kacico Dance recently received a $3000 grant from the Truman Heartland Community Foundation for "The Song and Dance Project, 2009."  We appreciate their support in making this project possible. 

Kacico Dance recently received a $2000 grant from Target for outreach programs.  We greatly appreciate their support. 

Kacico Dance recently received two generous grants from the Missouri Arts Council.  One grant is for the 2008-2009 season, and one is for assistance in purchasing computer equipment for our new office at Kacico Studios West.  We greatly appreciate the support of the Missouri Arts Council.  

Kacico Dance has been awarded a $3000 grant from the ArtsKC Catalyst Fund for the 2009 season.  We appreciate their support. 

Kacico Dance has been selected to be on the Missouri Arts Council Touring Roster for the upcoming year. Missouri organizations and presenters may apply for matching funds to present Kacico Dance in their community.  Contact the Missouri Arts Council for more information. missouriartscouncil.org

Kacico Studios West is located at the corner of 26th and W. Pennway (Broadway).  We are in a brick building on the 2nd floor at the end of the hall.  Our sign/logo is in the window and faces W Pennway.  We have ample parking in the lot next to our building in the evening and on weekends.  Weekday parking is on 26th street or west behind the building.
